Sights/Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. A Redfield Illuminator 3-9 power scope is mounted to the top of the receiver. The duplex reticle is clear and the scope rates in Very Good condition.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is one piece synthetic with a cheekpiece, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered forend, and a textured synthetic buttpad. The buttpad has minimal handling wear. The furniture has only faint surface scratches present. The LOP measures 13.75" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light copper fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. This rifle does not appear to have been shot outside the factory testing. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The finish shows only factory blemishes with the exception of a very small spot of pitting on the bottom of the barrel. The screw heads are lightly tooled and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Charles Daly Field Grade M-98 is a sporting rifle built by Zastava Arms and imported under the Charles Daly name.
