Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a u-notch elevator sight. The top of the receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are smooth walnut with a banded forearm, straight grip, straight comb, and a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. There are light handling marks and compressions. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 5/8" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is minor fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light operation wear. There is light intermittent oxidation and freckling, primarily held on the tangs. The screw heads are sharp to gently tool marked. There are a few minor scratches. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: John M. Browning’s Winchester Model 1894 became one of America’s defining sporting rifles, with the .30-30 Winchester chambering earning a lasting reputation for deer hunting in wooded and broken terrain. The Angle Eject system redirected fired cases to the side rather than vertically through the top of the receiver, permitting conventional receiver-mounted optics while retaining the Model 94’s compact proportions and familiar lever-action handling.

This Model 94AE Carbine has the traditional 20" barrel, full-length tubular magazine, straight-grip stocks, fixed sporting sights, and a receiver drilled and tapped for an optic mount. It retains about 98% of its original blue finish, with only minor operational wear, scattered scratches, and light oxidation or freckling concentrated around the tangs. The stocks remain in Fine condition, while the bright 9/10 bore, sharp rifling, and correctly functioning action indicate limited use. This is a clean, practical example of the scope-compatible Model 94AE and a well-preserved continuation of Winchester’s classic .30-30 hunting carbine.
