Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a "U" notch elevator dovetailed to the barrel. The left side of the receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled in two places for a receiver sight, none present.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece wood with a capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, and checkered steel butt plate. There are no chips or cracks. There are scattered handling marks and compressions. The buttstock has a poor fit at the tangs. The buttstock is likely not original to the gun. The LOP measures 13 1/4" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate shows no wear. The stocks rate in Good overall condition as not original.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish is strong throughout. There are scattered scratches. The actions shows light operational wear. The markings are sharp. The crew heads are sharp. There is a small ding on the left side of the magtube. Overall, the rifle rates in about Fair condition. See Mechanics.
Mechanics: The right cartridge guide is removed from the action as it is missing its screw. The threads are sharp and intact. Otherwise, the action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: John M. Browning’s Winchester Model 1894 became the benchmark American sporting lever action, while the .30-30 Winchester chambering established an enduring reputation for deer hunting and general field use. Introduced in 1967, the Model 94 Classic was a short-lived post-1964 variation that revived the proportions of Winchester’s earlier sporting rifles with an octagonal barrel, capped forearm, straight-grip stock, and traditional rifle-style buttplate. Offered with 20- and 26-inch barrels through approximately 1970, the Classic provided buyers with a more traditional alternative to the standard round-barreled Model 94 carbine.
This rifle retains about 97% of its original metal finish, with strong coverage, scattered scratches, light operational wear, and a small ding in the magazine tube. The bright bore has sharp rifling and rates 9/10, and the action functions correctly. The wood remains serviceable and free of chips or cracks, though the poorly fitted buttstock is likely a replacement and limits the rifle’s overall originality. Its desirable 26-inch octagonal-barreled configuration, excellent surviving metal finish, and early production place within the limited Model 94 Classic series give it appeal as both a traditional Winchester sporting rifle and a capable .30-30 shooter.
