Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation U-notch screwed into the barrel. The rear face of the front sight has been filed bright.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The refinished stocks are wood, the buttstock has a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, and checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. The buttplate shows light wear. The furniture shows a few scattered pressure dings and surface scuffs. Most notable is a small scuff in the top left side of the buttstock where it meets the buttplate. The LOP measures 12 3/4" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips. This furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright and the rifling is sharp. There is light erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 7.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 75% of its metal finish. The receiver shows most of the wear with spots of patina and surface oxidation. The barrel and magazine tube show only occasional spots of patina and oxidation spread infrequently. The screw heads range from unmarred to tooled and retain strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: A well-preserved post-WWI example of Winchester's classic slide-action .22, this 1920 rifle retains a strong working-gun presence with about 70% of its original blue finish remaining. 

As a 1920 production rifle, this Model 06 Expert Grade reflects the interwar return to recreational shooting and small-game hunting after World War I. Its ability to chamber .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle made it an indispensable tool in a period when ammunition availability varied by region and cost mattered. Well-preserved, mechanically intact examples from this era are increasingly scarce, and this rifle stands as a handsome, functional representative of Winchester's golden age of pump-action rimfires.
