The Remington Model 8 was the first commercially successful semi-automatic rifle sold in the United States, and it was made from 1911-1936. Remington created some spectacularly illustrated advertisements for their rifles during that period, known as the Remington Wildlife Art Collection. The originals were such masterpieces that they remained highly sought after a half century later, leading Remington to reintroduce the entire series in a line of reproduction posters in the 1970s, and these were often carried by Remington dealers in gun shops. This Vintage 1970s Remington Reproduction “Autoloading Rifle / The Right Of Way” Framed Print Advertising Poster is in Excellent condition, with moderate scattered tearing to the brown paper backing of the frame, and with some light scattered age wear evident. Please note, what appears to be brown discoloration at the middle front in the main photograph is actually just glare from our camera flash; the front image is unmarred. Most interestingly, it measures 27” x 19”, remains well mounted in a wooden frame with a glass front and a closed brown paper back, and features the classic “Remington / AUTOLOADING RIFLE / THE RIGHT OF WAY” illustration at front. The eye-catching image shows a large bear confronting a hunter on the side of a cliff, and the man is holding a Remington Model 8 rifle. It dates to the ca. 1970s, carries just barely visible Remington Arms markings peeking out from under the frame at the bottom right front, and is a beautiful example of a rare, original Vintage 1970s Remington Reproduction “Autoloading Rifle / The Right Of Way” Framed Print Advertising Poster.
