In the 1970s, Speer Omark Industries began producing some beautiful cartridge display boards akin to the old Winchester cartridge display boards of the late 19th century. The Speer boards differed by featuring commissioned artwork elegantly serving as the backdrop of the cartridges. One such board depicted an Anglo American trader bartering with Nez Perce in a celebration known as “The Potlatch”, roughly translating to the “giving of gifts”. This Vintage 1970s Speer Omark Industries “The Potlatch” 24” x 14” Bullet Cartridge Display Board is in Very Good condition, with only some scattered age wear evident. Most interestingly, it’s marked “SPEER / OMARK INDUSTRIES” and facsimile signed by the artist “Jack Woodson” at the lower left and right front corner, respectively, depicts an Anglo American trader bartering with Nez Perce in a celebration known as “The Potlatch”, roughly translating to the “giving of gifts”, and features all 109 rounds still firmly affixed at front, ranging from .22 to .45 caliber. The scene occurs on the Clearwater River east of Lewiston, Idaho. It’s well mounted in the original wooden frame, measures 24” x 14”, and carries the original brown paper description from the manufacturer on the brown burlap backing.
