The shocking news of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor left millions of Americans thirsting for revenge and spoiling for a fight. Patriotic propaganda posters with inspirational slogans were produced to "keep the home fires burning". This US WW2 Home Front Navy Sailor Pearl Harbor "AVENGE December 7" Framed Original Propaganda Poster is in Very Good Condition, with one vertical fold line running down the middle, three horizontal fold lines running across the upper, middle, and lower, a few very small nicks at the three intersections of those fold lines running down the middle, and with some light overall age wear evident. Most interestingly, it remains beautifully matted in a 34” x 28” dark brown wood frame, sports a metal hanging wire across the upper back, and boasts a crisp illustration at front, with “AVENGE / December 7” in large red lettering at the middle front, a square jawed, stern looking US Navy sailor with his fist raised looming above at the upper front, and a chaotic scene of ships blown asunder at the lower front. It carries the name of the illustrator, “Bernard Perlin”, printed in light red at the lower right front, dates to 1942, and is a fine example of a very rare, original US WW2 Home Front Navy Sailor Pearl Harbor "AVENGE December 7" Framed Original Propaganda Poster.
