Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade with red insert, pinned to a solid rib. The rear sight is a white outlined square notch adjustable for windage and elevation, screwed to the top-strap. Under the rear sight, the topstrap is factory drilled and tapped for mounting an optic.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a Hogue Monogrip pebble-textured black rubber with finger grooves. The grip has light handling wear with some scattered scuffing. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grip is in Very Good-plus condition as not original to the gun.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its finish. There are some scattered minor scuffs and tiny marks. There is some stubborn fouling from firing. The action shows operational wear including a thin turn-line on the cylinder. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with a strong slot. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Smith & Wesson Model 629-6 is a large-frame revolver chambered in .44 Magnum. Built on the robust round-butt N-frame, this revolver features a 3-inch barrel making it somewhat compact for a gun of this power. It includes a red ramp front sight and a white-outline adjustable rear sight for quick target acquisition. This sidearm is equipped with a .500" semi-target hammer and a .400" smooth combat trigger, enhancing its shootability. Its stainless steel finish provides durability and resistance to harsh environmental conditions. The revolver comes with Hogue rubber grips ensuring a secure hold even in adverse weather.
