Sights / Optics: The front sight is a ramped blade integral to a base screwed to the barrel, the rear face of the blade has been painted green. The rear sight is a white-outlined square notch adjustable for windage and elevation in a base pinned to the topstrap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one-piece Hogue overmold pebble-texture black rubber with finger grooves that leaves the backstrap exposed. The grip has light handling wear and some scattered scuffing. There are some small losses around the edges of the backstrap near the top. Overall, the grip is in Very Good condition as not original to the gun.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There are infrequent spots of minor erosion in the bore and some stubborn fouling. In this writer's opinion the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered minor marks. The action shows operational wear including a turn-line on the cylinder. The frame has a very slight plum hue, more notable on the loading gate. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Good condition (see Mechanics).
Mechanics: The revolver has a free-spin pawl, spinning in either direction when the loading gate is open. The cylinder tends to over-rotate when the hammer is pulled back briskly. Otherwise, the action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance and storage requirements.

Our Assessment: This Ruger New Model Single-Six revolver, manufactured in 1985, represents Ruger's modern single-action platform incorporating the transfer bar safety system introduced in the early 1970s. The Single-Six line has long been appreciated for its durability, versatility, and classic styling rooted in traditional frontier revolvers, while offering modern manufacturing and safety improvements. The 6.5 inch barrel provides an extended sight radius and improved balance, making it well suited for target shooting and field use. This revolver is chambered in .32 H&R Magnum, a cartridge introduced in 1984 that offers increased performance over earlier .32 caliber revolver rounds while maintaining manageable recoil. The revolver retains approximately 96 percent of its original finish with a good bore. While it has been equipped with a free-spin pawl, the cylinder does tend to over-rotate when the hammer is pulled back with significant force. The action otherwise functions properly. Overall, this 1985 Ruger Single-Six is a decent example of a modern single-action revolver, combining traditional styling with updated safety features and a versatile small-caliber chambering.
