Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch integral to the topstrap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth laminate wood with silver-on-black Ruger medallions. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is a little stubborn copper fouling. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered minor marks and the action shows light operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Ruger New Model Bearcat is a compact and finely finished single action revolver that reflects Ruger's continued commitment to small frame rimfire craftsmanship. Manufactured in 2014, this is one of the Lipsey's Distributor Exclusive Shopkeeper models with a shorter 3" barrel and birdshead grip frame. The Bearcat has long been appreciated for its miniscule proportions, light weight, and excellent balance, making it a quintessential trail and recreational revolver with roots that trace back to Ruger's earliest rimfire handguns. This example has rugged stainless steel production and handsome laminate wood grips, appearing to have seen minimal use. This New Bearcat offers a unique combination of modern production quality and uncommon factory configuration, making it an especially interesting example within Ruger’s Bearcat lineup.
