Sights/Optics: There are no iron sights currently mounted. A Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24mm scope is mounted to a Larue Tactical SPR-1.5 QD mount atop of the receiver. The illumination function works properly, but the threads that hold the battery in have stripped out and the cap will easily fall off. The glass is clear and the optic rates in Fair condition.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The upper is made by Rock River Arms. The forend is a carbine length clamshell handguard with internal heat shield. The pistol grip is made by ERGO Grips. The stock is a collapsible MAGPUL ACS stock. Note- the stock is commercial spec, the buffer tube is milspec. The LOP measures 14.5" at full extension from the face of the trigger to the rear of the butt. The buffer is made by Palmetto State Armory. The charging handle is a BCM Gunfighter. There is a MAGPUL Ambidextrous Sling Attachment Point mounted in between the lower receiver and buffer tube. The muzzle device is a GEMTECH Suppressors flash hider. The furniture shows minimal handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. This furniture rates in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Matte black

Finish Originality: Original to the parts. The upper is not original to the lower.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with some light fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are light handling and operational marks scattered along the metal surfaces. The pins are unmarred and remain fully functional. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This rifle presents in Fine overall condition, retaining approximately 99% of its original matte finish with a Rock River Arms .300 Blackout upper installed on an RRA 5.56 lower. The exterior surfaces are clean and uniform with light handling evidence, giving the rifle a crisp, well maintained appearance. The rifle is fitted with a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24mm scope, providing a versatile optic well suited to the .300 AAC Blackout cartridge across close to intermediate distances.

Mechanically, the rifle is strong. The bore rates 9.5 out of 10 with bright surfaces and sharp rifling, indicating light use. The action functions correctly with smooth cycling and proper lockup, consistent with Rock River Arms assembly standards. The 16" barrel offers a balanced configuration for the cartridge, allowing reliable function and practical accuracy with a wide range of ammunition.

As configured, this LAR-15 represents a clean, modern sporting rifle that pairs Rock River Arms build quality with a capable low power variable optic. With excellent finish retention, a high quality bore, and correct mechanical operation, this rifle stands as a well preserved example of a contemporary AR platform chambered in .300 AAC Blackout.
