Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade integral to a block fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a rectangular notch semi-buckhorn elevator sight dovetailed to the barrel.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece smooth walnut with banded forend, straight grip, straight comb, steel buttplate. There are a few faint handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 12 7/8" from the front of the trigger to the rear of the buttplate. Overall, the stocks rate in Fine Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a few scattered handling marks. There is a spot of finish loss on the top right of the receiver next to the bolt. The screws are sharp. The pins are clean. The markings are clear. Overall, this rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Browning Model 92, manufactured by Miroku in Japan in 1983, is a faithful and well regarded revival of Winchester’s classic 1892 pattern, executed during the period when Browning’s Japanese production earned a strong reputation for precision machining and excellent fit and finish. Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum with a 20 inch round barrel, this rifle blends traditional lever action handling with a modern, powerful cartridge well suited to sporting and field use. The trim carbine profile, banded forend, and steel buttplate closely mirror the historic lines that made the Model 92 an enduring favorite.

Condition remains a strong highlight, with the rifle retaining approximately 98 percent of its original blue finish and showing only minor handling marks consistent with careful ownership. The walnut stocks are clean and well preserved, and the bore is bright with sharp rifling. Markings are clear, screws remain sharp, and the action functions as intended. Overall, this is a high quality example of Browning’s Miroku era craftsmanship, offering classic aesthetics paired with excellent mechanical execution.
