Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade pinned to a checkered, ramped base fixed to the front of the barrel, adjustable for elevation. The rear sight is a square-notched dovetailed to a base fixed to the rear of the barrel. There is a Weaver K4-F 4x scope with duplex reticle mounted atop the receiver with the factory quick release mount and rings. The glass is clear and the optic rates in Very Good condition.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The one piece wood stock has a raised comb, cheekpiece, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered forend with a schnabel tip, and a serrated rubber Pachmayr buttpad. There are sling swivels front and rear. There is light to moderate wear with a few scattered pressure dings, scuffs, and scratches. The LOP measures 14.25" from the face of the trigger to the rear of the butt. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the furniture is in Very Good to Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the polygonal rifling is defined. There is faint erosion towards the muzzle end of the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The finish is strong with only two notable wear marks on top of the barrel and another on the back right of the receiver. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a high condition example of H&K's well regarded sporting rimfire, retaining approximately 97% of its original finish. The metal surfaces are clean and even with only light handling evidence, and the rifle presents the tidy, purposeful lines that distinguish the Model 300 from more utilitarian rimfires of the era. The 19.5" barrel gives the rifle a balanced, compact sporting profile well suited to the .22 WMR cartridge.

Mechanically, the rifle is solid. The bore rates 9.5 out of 10 with bright steel and defined rifling, indicating minimal use. The action functions correctly and operates with the smooth, deliberate feel expected from H&K production, reflecting the company's emphasis on precise machining and reliable operation.

Historically, the Model 300 represents H&K's entry into the premium sporting rimfire market during the late twentieth century, blending German engineering with practical field performance. Chambered in .22 WMR, these rifles offered increased range and energy over standard .22 LR while maintaining refined handling characteristics.
