Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded post dovetailed into a stippled base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, 25 rib/notch forend, and a checkered metal Remington buttplate. The buttplate shows light wear with some finish wearing off of the top and bottom. The furniture shows moderate wear with pressure dings, scuffs, and scratches throughout. Some of the wood finish is delaminating. The LOP measures 13.5" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. This furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is fairly sharp. There is mild erosion towards the muzzle end of the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 7.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is light handling and operational wear with some scattered freckling on the metal surfaces. The magazine tube shows finish wear from cycling the action. The screw heads are lightly marred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good-plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This rifle presents in very strong overall condition, retaining approximately 95% of its original blue finish. The metal surfaces are clean and evenly preserved with light handling evidence, and the rifle retains matching numbered parts, an important indicator of originality for collectors. The stock and fore end maintain correct contours and finish, giving the rifle a crisp, well cared for appearance typical of quality postwar Remington production.

Mechanically, the rifle is solid. The bore rates 7.5 out of 10, showing moderate wear but remaining serviceable with good remaining accuracy potential. The pump action functions correctly, delivering the smooth, positive cycling that made the Gamemaster series one of the most respected slide action centerfire rifles of the mid twentieth century. The 24" barrel provides a balanced sporting profile and allows the .35 Remington cartridge to perform effectively for woods and medium range hunting.

Historically, the Model 141 Gamemaster represented the refined evolution of Remington's earlier Model 14, incorporating improvements in handling and durability while retaining the proven spiral magazine tube and strong pump action design.
