Barrel Length: 24.75", 25.25" to the end of the thread protector.

Sights/Optics: The front and rear iron sights have been removed. There is a Tasco 3-9 power scope with a duplex reticle mounted to the grooved receiver. The glass is clear and the scope rates in Very Good condition.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The one piece wood stock has a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, and a checkered synthetic buttplate. There is light wear with pressure dings and scattered surface scuffs. The LOP measures 13.5" from the face of the trigger to the rear of the butt. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the furniture is in Fine condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Original, the barrel was threaded outside the factory.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp with faint fouling. There is faint erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 8.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is only light wear with infrequent scratches. The bottom of the barrel has some light surface oxidation present. The threads at the end of the barrel are in excellent shape. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This rifle presents as a well preserved example of Remington's classic bolt action rimfire from the company's strong mid century production period. Approximately 95% of the original finish remains, with the metal surfaces showing light, even wear consistent with careful use. The long 24.75" barrel gives the rifle a graceful sporting profile and an excellent sight radius, and the overall appearance remains clean and attractive. The barrel has been threaded, allowing for the mounting of muzzle devices. The mounted Tasco scope adds practical usability while remaining appropriate to the rifle's era and intended role.

Mechanically, the rifle is sound. The bore rates 8.5 out of 10 with good brightness and clearly defined rifling, indicating moderate use with solid remaining accuracy potential.
