Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch integral to the slide. The top of the slide is serrated to reduce glare.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered black hard rubber with logos at the top and smooth borders. The grips have light handling marks with some light scratches. There are no chips or cracks. The grips are in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling. There is light erosion scattered throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 7.5/10.

Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 90% of it's original finish. The finish shows edge wear, thinning at the muzzle, light scratches, and some minor flecks of oxidation. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Remington Arms Co. Model 51 was manufactured in 1925 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic firearm. Produced by Remington Arms Company and designed by the renowned firearms inventor John D. Pedersen, the Model 51 is one of the most innovative and technically sophisticated pocket pistols of the early 20th century. Rather than utilizing a conventional blowback action, the Model 51 employs Pedersen's unique hesitation-lock system, providing reduced felt recoil and exceptional shooting characteristics for a compact pistol. Its advanced design and distinctive styling have made it a favorite among collectors of classic American semi-automatic handguns.

Chambered in .32 ACP, the Model 51 was intended as a premium concealed-carry pistol, offering excellent ergonomics, natural pointing characteristics, and smooth operation.
