Sights / Optics: The front sight is a short blade fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a square notch sight dovetailed to the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece checkered marbled brown synthetic panels with STAR TRADE MARK emblems molded in their sides. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The grip screws are sharp. Overall the grips rate in Excellent condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: 1x .32 Auto 9rd magazine in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish is strong and complete throughout. There is very light handling and operational wear. The case colors are vibrant and very strong. The screw heads are tool marked with strong serviceable slots and the pins are unmarred. There is old grease on some of the components and barrel. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The single action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Spanish Star Model SI was part of Bonifacio Echeverria’s compact S-series, a family of all-steel, single-action pistols that borrowed heavily from the handling and appearance of the Colt Government Model while being scaled for pocket use. The “I” designation identified the 7.65mm Browning/.32 ACP chambering, and the SI combined a 4" barrel, locked-breech recoil-operated action, frame-mounted manual safety, and 9-round detachable magazine in a compact steel package. Star pistols earned a strong reputation for traditional machining and robust construction, and the SI represents an interesting European interpretation of the American 1911 pattern in one of the classic Continental pocket-pistol cartridges. The N1 Spanish proof date code corresponds to 1968.
This 1968 example is especially well preserved, retaining about 99% of its original blue finish with only very light handling and operational wear. The marbled brown synthetic grips remain in Excellent condition, the case colors on the hammer and trigger bar remain vibrant, and the bright, sharply rifled bore rates 9/10. The single-action mechanism functions correctly, and the pistol is accompanied by its factory box, owner's manual, and one 9-round magazine. With its high condition, factory accessories, classic all-steel construction, and attractive 1960s Spanish manufacture, this is a particularly nice representative of Star's compact pistol line.
