Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade dovetailed to a serrated ramp, screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a New England Custom u-notch dovetailed to a base, screwed to the barrel. The top of the receiver has two pairs of drilled, tapped, and filled holes for scope base options.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one piece C-Grade Walnut Stock with Fleur de Lis Checkering, capped pistol grip with 24-karat gold medallion, fluted monte carlo comb with cheek piece, Remington ventilated rubber buttpad, tipped forend, and two sling studs front and rear. There are dents on wood on each side of the front sling stud. There is a crack isolated to the belly of the buttstock just behind the capped grip. The crack does not reach into any of the corners. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/4" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The checkering is sharp. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no operational wear. The markings are clear. The screwheads are strong and sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition given the stock, but appears unfired outside of factory testing.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: Remington introduced the Model 700 in 1962, the same year the 7mm Remington Magnum entered the company's catalog, beginning a combination that became one of Remington's signature sporting-rifle pairings. In 2016, Remington marked its bicentennial with an elaborate Model 700 Limited Edition honoring the company founded by Eliphalet Remington two centuries earlier. Production was limited to 2,016 rifles, each chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum and distinguished by a C-Grade walnut stock with fleur-de-lis checkering, classic American-style engraving, sculpted 24-karat gold inlay depicting Eliphalet Remington with his first forged barrel, a grip medallion, New England Custom sights, special serial numbering, and commemorative packaging.
This example retains about 99% of its original metal finish with a bright, sharply rifled 10/10 bore and properly functioning action. The C-Grade walnut stock shows dents near the front sling stud and a localized crack behind the pistol grip, accounting for the rifle's overall Very Good rating despite the exceptional condition of its metalwork. Particularly important for a commemorative, it remains accompanied by its factory box, certificate of authenticity, Remington historical timeline, card, sticker, cable lock, and other accessories. Remington specifically supplied these limited rifles with a Bicentennial box, historical timeline, and certificate, making the completeness of this example an important component of its collector appeal. With only 2,016 produced to celebrate Remington's 200th anniversary, this is an impressive presentation-grade Model 700 that combines one of Remington's most enduring rifles with one of its most historically significant commemorative programs.
