Sights/Optics: The front sight is an A1 post adjustable for elevation. The rear sight is a dual aperture adjustable for windage integral to the fixed carry handle. No optics are included.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture consists of a two position collapsible aluminum carbine stock, A1 pistol grip, slim clamshell handguard, and an A1 birdcage flash hider. The BCG is a correct Colt make. The are some light scratches and faint handling marks present. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The chrome lined bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original finish. There are some light surface scratches present on many of the metal surfaces. The receiver pins are unmarred and remain functional. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This pre-ban Colt SP1 Carbine was manufactured in 1983 and represents one of the most desirable civilian AR-15 carbines of the pre-ban era. Produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company, the SP1 Carbine retained the classic slickside upper receiver without a forward assist while incorporating the compact features of the military XM177 and early CAR-15 family. Pre-ban Colt carbines have become increasingly collectible due to their historical significance and close relationship to early military AR-15 developments.
Chambered in .223 Remington with a chrome-lined 16 inch pencil-profile barrel and carbine-length gas system, this rifle is configured with a two-position aluminum collapsible stock, A1 pistol grip, slim clamshell handguard, and an A1 birdcage flash hider. These features give it the classic appearance and lightweight handling characteristics of early Colt carbines. In this writer's opinion, the chrome-lined bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition with strong rifling. The action functions correctly.
