Sights/Optics: The front sight is an A1 post adjustable for elevation. The rear sight is a dual aperture adjustable for windage integral to the fixed carry handle. No optics are included.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture consists of a fixed A1 stock, A1 pistol grip, triangular handguard, and an A1 birdcage flash hider. The BCG is a correct Colt make. The are only light handling marks with no notable blemishes. The LOP measures 13" from the face of the trigger to the butt. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Fine Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The chrome lined bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with stubborn fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original finish. There are some light surface scratches present on many of the metal surfaces. The receiver pins are unmarred and remain functional. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This pre-ban Colt SP1 was manufactured in 1973 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company, the SP1 was the first commercially successful civilian AR-15 and closely mirrored the configuration of the early M16. Featuring the classic slickside upper receiver without a forward assist and A1-profile furniture, the SP1 has become one of the most collectible variants of the civilian AR-15. As a pre-ban example from the early 1970s, it holds significant historical and collector appeal.
Chambered in .223 Remington with a 20 inch barrel, this rifle retains the lightweight, full-length configuration that made the original AR-15 famous. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition with strong rifling. The action functions correctly.
The furniture rates in Fine Plus condition with little visible handling wear. This rifle retains approximately 98% of its original finish, presenting an exceptionally clean appearance.
