Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded post dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a u-notch adjustable for elevation dovetailed into the barrel.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The refinished furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, smooth forend, and a checkered metal buttplate. The buttplate shows very little wear. The furniture shows pressure dings, surface scratches, and some drag lines. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its nonoriginal metal finish. The finish is very strong showing only scattered spots of freckling. The screw heads show little to no tooling and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This postwar Winchester Model 63 was manufactured in 1951 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Winchester during the strong post-World War II sporting rifle era, the Model 63 was one of Winchester's most refined and reliable semi-automatic rimfire offerings. By the early 1950s, the Model 63 had become a mainstay among hunters and recreational shooters alike.

Chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a 23 inch barrel, this tube-fed semi-automatic rifle maintains the classic sporting configuration. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates a perfect 10 out of 10, indicating exceptional internal condition. The action functions correctly.

This rifle retains approximately 97 percent of its nonoriginal metal finish, presenting a very clean and cohesive appearance. The refinished furniture rates in Very Good condition with solid structure and light handling wear. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good Plus condition and stands as a sharp example of a 1951 Winchester Model 63 with excellent bore condition and quality refinish work.
