Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a u-notch adjustable for elevation dovetailed into the barrel.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, smooth forend, and a checkered metal buttplate. The buttplate has faint wear. The furniture shows light pressure dings and surface scratches scattered throughout. The LOP measures 13.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is a squib ring just before the end the bore. The barrel is lightly bulged from the squib. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its original metal finish. The finish shows edge wear, scrub marks on the receiver, and occasional freckling. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This postwar Winchester Model 63 was manufactured in 1950 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Winchester during the strong postwar sporting rifle era, the Model 63 remained one of the most respected semi-automatic rimfire rifles of its time. The 23 inch tube-fed configuration continued to serve as a dependable small game and recreational platform throughout the 1950s.

Chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a 23 inch barrel, this rifle reflects the classic sporting configuration of the model. There is a squib ring just before the end of the bore and the barrel is lightly bulged from the squib. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 5 out of 10. The action functions correctly.
