Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, smooth forend, and a checkered metal buttplate. The buttplate has only light edge wear. The furniture shows only a few minor pressure dings and small scuffs. The LOP measures 13.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with faint fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The finish shows only a few minor scratches on the upper and lower receivers. The screw heads show little to no tooling and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This postwar Winchester Model 63 was manufactured in 1953 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Winchester during the final decade of Model 63 production, the rifle represents one of Winchester's most refined semi-automatic rimfire sporting arms. The Model 63 earned a reputation for reliability, smooth operation, and excellent handling characteristics, making it a favorite among hunters and recreational shooters alike.

Chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a 23 inch barrel, this tube-fed semi-automatic rifle retains the classic sporting configuration that made the model so successful. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition. The action functions correctly.

This rifle retains approximately 98% of its original metal finish, presenting an exceptionally clean example. The furniture rates in Fine condition with minimal visible wear. Particularly noteworthy is the inclusion of the serial matching factory box, original packaging materials, instruction manual, and warranty card. Complete packages of this nature are increasingly difficult to find and add significantly to the rifle's collector appeal. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition and stands as an outstanding 1953 Winchester Model 63 with highly desirable factory accessories and documentation.
