Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, straight wrist grip,17-rib forend, and a checkered synthetic Winchester buttplate. The buttplate has light wear. The furniture shows light pressure dings and surface scratches. The LOP measures 13.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Very Good Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of it's original finish. The finish shows light edge wear, faint freckling, and scattered surface scratches. The screw heads range from lightly tooled to unmarred and retain turnable slots. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This postwar Winchester Model 62A was manufactured in 1948 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Winchester during the strong post-World War II sporting rifle era, the Model 62A represented the refined continuation of Winchester's successful slide-action rimfire line. By the late 1940s, the 62A had become a trusted small game and recreational rifle across the country.

Chambered in .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle with a 23 inch barrel, this rifle reflects the versatile configuration that allowed shooters to use multiple rimfire cartridges. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates a perfect 10 out of 10, with exceptional internal condition. The action functions correctly.

This rifle retains approximately 95% of its original finish, presenting a very clean and well-preserved example. The furniture rates in Very Good Plus condition with little visible wear. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good Plus condition and stands as a sharp 1948 Winchester Model 62A in multi-cartridge configuration.
