Original WWII 464th Fighter Squadron Patch
This an original WWII embroidered Felt & Chain-Stitched 464th Fighter Squadron Patch. The 464th Fighter Squadron was assigned to the 507th Fighter Groups in the 12th and 8th AAF and operated in the Pacific Theater in WWII from 1944 to 1945. The squadron flew P-47's as long range escorts for B-29's bombing Japan. The patch is chain stitched and embroidered felt construction with the cheese cloth backing still present. Color is Good, with some staining and there is only mild mothing. Diameter: 5 1/4". Does not glow under a black light. est. $300-$500
