Original WWII 40th Fighter Squadron Patch
This an original WWII Australian Theater Made 40th Fighter Squadron Patch. The 40th Fighter Squadron was assigned to the 31st & 41st Fighter Groups in the 5th AAF and operated in the Pacific Theater in WWII from June 1942 to August 1945. The squadron flew P-39s, P-47's & P-51's. The patch is embroidered felt construction with the "backing" still present. Color is Very Good and there is only moderate mothing, especially around the border. Diameter: 5". Does not glow under a black light. est. $300-$500
