Original WWII 356th Fighter Squadron Flight Jacket Removed Patch "Red Asses"
This an original WWII 356th Fighter Squadron Patch. The 356th Fighter Squadron was assigned to the 354th Fighter Group in the 8th AAF and operated in the European Theater in WWII from the summer of 1943 to May 1945. The squadron flew escort long range missions for B-24's & B-17's from England to bomb strategic targets on the continent. The patch is painted leather, jacket removed and also showing scrapbook residue on the back. Color is Very Good. Diameter: Approx. 5 1/2". Does not glow under a black light. The 356th Fighter Squadron was assigned to the 354th Fighter Group in the 8th AAF
