Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with stubborn fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 97% of its finish. There is mostly edge wear from handling and operation present. The markings are fairly clear and complete. There is an "HPD" marking on the frame. Overall, this pistol rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This pistol presents in Fine overall condition, retaining approximately 97%of its original finish. The heavier Brigadier slide profile gives the pistol its distinctive appearance and adds mass to help manage recoil in the .40 S&W chambering. Exterior surfaces are clean and evenly preserved with only light handling evidence, and the overall presentation reflects careful ownership.

Mechanically, the pistol is excellent. The bore rates 9.5 out of 10 with bright steel and sharp rifling, indicating light use. The action functions correctly with smooth double action and single action operation, positive decocking, and consistent cycling. The Elite II configuration incorporates upgraded features over standard Model 96 pistols, including enhanced ergonomics and performance oriented refinements that were aimed at duty and competition use.

Historically, the Brigadier Elite II represents one of Beretta's premium .40 caliber service pistols from the late 1990s and early 2000s, produced during the peak era of law enforcement adoption of the .40 S&W cartridge.
