Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade atop a ramped base fixed to the barrel. There is no rear sight. The receiver is grooved for an optic, but none is present.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is wood, the buttstock has a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, and synthetic Browning buttplate. The buttplate shows light wear. The furniture shows light wear with some scattered pressure dings and scuffs. Most notable is finish wear around where the stock meets the buttplate. The LOP measures 13.5" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. This furniture rates in Very Good condition. We have removed the action from the stock and do not see any signs of saltwood erosion.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is light erosion at the muzzle end of the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 8.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The finish shows a few scattered scuffs and scratches. Most notable is a small spot of surface oxidation just forward of the action. The screw heads are lightly tooled and retain strong slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good-plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a strong, early production example of Browning’s distinctive straight pull rimfire, presenting in Very Good-plus overall condition with approximately 97% of its original blue finish remaining. The metal surfaces are clean and even, showing only light handling marks, and the rifle retains the crisp, refined appearance that made FN produced Browning rimfires stand out during this period. The 22" barrel gives the rifle a classic sporting profile and a generous sight radius, contributing to its balanced, elegant look.

Mechanically, the rifle functions properly. The bore rates 8.5 out of 10 with good brightness and clearly defined rifling, and the straight pull action functions correctly with the fast, smooth cycling that defines the T-Bolt design. The action's unique toggle system allows rapid follow up shots while maintaining the accuracy and consistency expected from a quality bolt action rimfire.

As a 1968 FN Browning T-Bolt with strong remaining finish and correct mechanical operation, this rifle represents a desirable example from the original production era. Early FN made T-Bolts are well regarded for their craftsmanship, handling, and distinctive operating system, and high condition examples like this continue to be sought after by collectors and shooters alike.
