Sights/Optics: The front sight is a metal bead fixed on top of the rib that runs the length of the barrel.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered forend, and a synthetic Browning buttplate. The buttplate has minimal wear. The furniture shows only a couple minor pressure dings. The LOP measures 13.75" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with light streaking. There is no erosion in the choke. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The only finish wear is on the magazine tube from cycling the action. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this shotgun rates in Fine Plus to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Browning Model 42 Grade 1 was manufactured in 1991 and represents Browning's faithful recreation of the legendary Winchester Model 42. Produced by Browning, these shotguns were manufactured by Miroku and are highly regarded for their quality, fit, and finish. The Model 42 design remains one of the most elegant and desirable .410 pump-action shotguns ever produced.
Chambered for .410 Bore 3 inch shells with a 26 inch barrel, this shotgun was originally configured with a fixed Full choke. The barrel has since been professionally threaded to accept Briley Thin Wall choke tubes and includes Improved Cylinder, Light Modified, Modified, and Improved Modified chokes, greatly increasing the shotgun's versatility. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition. The action functions correctly.
The furniture rates in Fine condition with little handling wear and attractive presentation. This shotgun retains approximately 98% of its original metal finish, presenting a very clean appearance.
