Sights/Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. There are factory bases, but the rings are missing.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The one piece wood stock has a cheekpiece, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered forend, and an orange rubber Winchester buttpad. There is light wear with infrequent pressure dings and scattered blemishes. The cap on the semi-pistol grip has light freckling. The LOP measures 13.5" from the face of the trigger to the rear of the butt. There is a small crack running from the rear of the upper tang. There are no chips. Overall the furniture is in Fine condition.

Finish Originality: Original, matching bolt.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi bright and the rifling is mostly sharp. There is heavy pitting scattered throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are minimal blemishes or handling marks. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in about Good condition due to the heavily pitted bore. It would rate much higher if it weren't for the bore condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a high cosmetic condition Super Grade that retains approximately 99% of its original finish. The metal surfaces are clean and even, and the stock shows the refined lines, checkering, and presentation associated with the Super Grade trim. Mechanically, the rifle functions correctly. The action cycles smoothly and locks up as intended, consistent with the Model 70's reputation for controlled round feed reliability. However, the bore condition is the primary consideration on this example. The bore rates 5 out of 10 and shows heavy pitting, which will impact accuracy potential and should be fully understood by prospective buyers.
