This lot features a vintage right handed Mexican loop style leather holster manufactured by Al Furstnow of Miles City, Montana. Furstnow was a well known Western saddler and leather craftsman active in the early 20th century whose shop produced holsters, saddles, and other leather goods widely used throughout the American West. His holsters are recognized for their durable construction and practical frontier design and were commonly used by working cowboys and outdoorsmen across the region.

The holster is constructed in the traditional Mexican loop pattern. This design reinforced the holster body while allowing it to ride securely on a gun belt. The example here retains its brown leather construction with visible age, handling wear, and fading of the border stamping. The maker's mark reading "AL. FURSTNOW / MILES CITY, MONT." is clearly stamped on the securing strap.

This holster is sized to accommodate approximately a 6" barrel medium frame revolver such as a Smith & Wesson K frame or similar handgun. Due to the interior contour, revolvers equipped with a full underlug barrel will not fit properly. Overall this is a solid example of early Western holster craftsmanship from one of Montana's historic leather makers and would pair well with a period revolver or Western display.
