Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade pinned into a base with a serrated face banded around the barrel. A type 2 front sight cover is installed. The rear bridge sight is a fully adjustable aperture mounted to the receiver dovetail.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood in the standard 1903A3 configuration with inspection cartouches. The checkered buttplate has very little handling wear. The cleaning kit compartment is empty. The furniture only shows some minor pressure dings. The LOP measures 12.75" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Fine Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The four-groove bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. The muzzle erosion measures 0.25. There is a thin layer of stubborn grease remaining. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its finish. The finish shows only extremely faint wear, with no notable blemishes. There is some stubborn grease still in many of the recesses. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine Plus to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This World War II Remington Arms Model 1903A3 was manufactured in 1943 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic firearm. Produced by Remington Arms Company, the M1903A3 was a wartime refinement of the legendary U.S. Model 1903 rifle. Designed to simplify production while preserving the strength and accuracy of the original Springfield action, the 1903A3 incorporated stamped components and a receiver-mounted aperture rear sight, making it one of the finest military bolt-action rifles fielded by the United States during World War II. This example is especially desirable because all of its marked parts are Remington manufactured. The stock bears an Ogden Arsenal inspection mark, though the rifle does not appear to have undergone a full arsenal overhaul, suggesting it has retained much or all of its original factory configuration.
Chambered in .30-06 Springfield with a 24 inch barrel, this rifle combines the proven Mauser-inspired action with one of America's most successful military cartridges. The M1903A3 earned an outstanding reputation for reliability, durability, and battlefield accuracy throughout World War II. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition with strong rifling. The action functions correctly.
