Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade pinned into a base with a serrated face banded around the barrel. The rear bridge sight is a fully adjustable aperture mounted to the receiver dovetail.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood in the standard 1903A3 configuration with inspection cartouches and a Remington Arms mark. The checkered buttplate has moderate handling wear. The cleaning kit compartment is empty. The furniture shows scattered pressure dings, scratches, and old blemishes that have been sanded. The LOP measures 12.75" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. The muzzle erosion measures 0.2. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 80% of its arsenal-refurbished finish. The finish shows light scratches, operational wear, losses on the buttplate and front sight, and patina on the rear band. The screw heads are lightly tooled and retain turnable slots. The markings are fairly clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This World War II Remington Arms Model 1903A3 was manufactured in 1942 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic firearm. Produced by Remington Arms Company, the M1903A3 was a wartime refinement of the legendary U.S. Model 1903 rifle. Designed to simplify production while maintaining the strength and accuracy of the original Springfield action, the 1903A3 incorporated stamped components and a receiver-mounted aperture rear sight that provided a longer sight radius and improved practical accuracy. It served with distinction throughout World War II and remains one of the most respected American military bolt-action rifles ever produced. This example retains Remington-manufactured components throughout, with the exception of a Smith-Corona replacement bolt, a substitution commonly encountered on U.S. military rifles that passed through arsenal inspection and rebuild programs.
