Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are one-piece checkered synthetic. The grips show light handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 85% of its metal finish. There are scattered handling marks and scratches mostly on the frame. The screw heads show faint tooling and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this pistol rates in about Very Good Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a strong wartime production example of the Model 27, retaining approximately 85% of its original blued finish. The bluing remains even and well preserved with honest service wear consistent with period use, and the pistol retains a matching slide and frame, an important point of originality for collectors. Overall appearance reflects the higher finish quality seen on many earlier wartime examples before the widespread shift to phosphate finishes.

Mechanically, the pistol is excellent. The bore rates 9.5 out of 10, showing bright steel and sharp rifling with minimal wear. The action functions correctly with smooth cycling, proper lockup, and consistent trigger operation. Fit remains tight, and handling is predictable and confidence inspiring, reflecting the solid design of the Model 27.

Historically, the CZ Model 27 was one of the most widely issued pistols produced in occupied Czechoslovakia during World War II and served German forces throughout the conflict. Blued wartime examples with matching major components are increasingly sought after, as many later pistols were finished more crudely.
