This lot features a WWII-era Kinfolks V44 pilot survival knife, one of the most recognizable and desirable large-format fighting knives produced during the Second World War. Originally designed for aircrew survival kits, the V44 pattern drew heavily from traditional Bowie knives, offering a long, powerful blade suited for both utility and defensive use. Kinfolks Inc., a respected American cutlery manufacturer, produced a limited number of these knives, making surviving examples increasingly scarce and sought after.

The knife features a broad clip-point blade with a long fuller, clearly marked "Kinfolks" at the ricasso. The blade shows honest age and use with a visible patina, light surface wear, and scattered oxidation consistent with period carry. The edge appears well maintained with a strong profile. The brass crossguard with ball finials shows natural tarnishing, while the black composition grip panels are secured with three pins and remain solid with minimal handling wear.

Included is the original leather sheath, which shows age, handling wear, and areas of dryness, particularly at the tip where there is noticeable wear.
