Sights/Optics: There are currently no front or rear sights. The receiver has filled taps ready for mounting scope bases. No Bases or optic are included.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is one piece wood with a fluted comb, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered schnabel forend, and a smooth synthetic Winchester buttpad. The buttpad has light handling wear. The furniture only shows a few faint surface scratches. The LOP measures 13.5" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The finish shows only a few very minor surface blemishes. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine Plus to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherweight was manufactured in 1982 and represents one of the more desirable sporting configurations of the post-1964 Model 70 line. Produced by Winchester, the XTR Featherweight combined enhanced finish quality with a lighter-contour barrel and trim stock dimensions, creating an elegant and highly portable hunting rifle. Chambering in .257 Roberts further enhances its appeal, as relatively few rifles were produced in this classic cartridge compared to more common offerings.
