Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED JUNE 26.88. DEC. 6.92.” and “MOD. 1890-”. The left side of the barrel is marked “22 LONG.” The bottom of the receiver is marked “337711.” The upper tang is marked “WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK.” Additional proof marks and assembly markings are present.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a standard adjustable buckhorn sight.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The rifle features a smooth walnut buttstock with a straight grip and a grooved walnut forend. The stock has light handling marks and small scratches, with no major cracks or chips. The LOP measures approximately 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the steel crescent buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: Tubular magazine under the barrel, capacity dependent on the .22 Long cartridge length.

Bore Condition: The bore is gray, the rifling is well defined. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 80% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows thinning, handling wear, and minor patina developing throughout. There are scattered light scratches and small areas of finish loss, particularly along high-contact areas of the receiver and barrel. The screw heads are lightly tool-marked but remain serviceable. The markings are clear and legible. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
