Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Lyman brass beaded blade dovetailed to a tall ramped base fixed to the top barrel at the muzzle-end. The rear sight is a Lyman folding “U”-notch sight dovetailed to a quarter-rib at the rear of the top barrel; the notch has a white triangle aiming reference and is fine-adjustable for elevation. The quarter-rib also has bases mounted for an included Leupold 3-9 Vari-X IIc Riflescope with Duplex Crosshair reticle. The scope comes fitted with a set of 1” Quick-Detach scope rings.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered select walnut with a finger-grooved forend, steel-capped pistol grip, monte carlo comb with cheekpiece, brown rubber Winchester buttpad and a sling stud in the belly (there is another sling mount fixed to the bottom barrel in front of the forend). The stocks have a few scattered minor nicks and light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. The LOP measures 13 7/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad, 13 3/8″ to the back of the wood. The pad has light wear and some discoloration. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good-Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bores, but there is some stubborn copper fouling. There is a small spot of corrosion about an inch from the muzzle in the .223 bore. In this writer’s opinion, the 12 GA bore rates 10/10 while the .223 bore rates 8/10.

Overall Condition: This combination gun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance is mostly wear on the barrels from the forend and receiver, concealed when the action is closed. The action shows minor operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine-Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrels lock up with no play to the receiver. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
