The fact that the United States, of course combined with the efforts of the other members of the “Big Four” (Britain, Russia, and China), fought and defeated Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan at the height of their nefarious powers, is an incredible testament to the might of the American war machine, from the front lined armed forces to the manufacturing and rationing effort on the home front. The US government printed a variety of “propaganda” posters to encourage the best effort of folks on the home front to support the war effort, ranging from buying war bonds, to putting forth maximum effort at their jobs, to simply reminding the American people the sheer evil of the enemy. This US WW2 Home Front Anti-German "THIS IS THE ENEMY" Framed Original Propaganda Poster is in Very Good Condition, with one vertical fold line running down the middle, three horizontal fold lines running across the upper, middle, and lower, a few very small surface nicks at the middle intersection of those lines, two small surface nicks at the upper right front, some scattered small surface nicks at the lower left front, some scattered spots of scuffing at the upper front edges of the frame, a few very small spots of indenting in the upper portion of the black paper backing, and with some scattered age wear evident. Most interestingly, it remains beautifully matted in a 33 1/2” x 25 3/8” dark brown wood frame, sports a metal hanging wire across the upper back, and boasts a crisp illustration at front, with “THIS IS THE ENEMY” in large green lettering within a black rectangle at the lower front, and a red swastika sleeved German fist driving a K-98 bayonet through a “HOLY BIBLE” at middle, all set against an ominous red backdrop.
