Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a notch in the nose of the hammer, visible when cocked.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one-piece smooth wood. The grip has no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grip is in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Blue, Case Color & Brass

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrel assembly has thinning at the edges of the bullet cuts below the wedge and there are light scratching below the wedge on the left. There are a few other scattered minor marks. The action shows faint operational wear. The screw heads heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Fine-plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial-matching Taylor's box with manual and an MASC leather paddle holster.

Our Assessment: The Pietta 1860 Army is a replica revolver of the Colt revolver. Imported by Taylor's & Co., this example has a 5 3/8" barrel, but does have cuts and mounting screws for a shoulder-stock if you'd like to set it up as a little percussion carbine. The revolver doesn't appear to have seen much use and comes with its original box. It even comes with a neat leather paddle holster for carry. Please see our photos and good luck!
