Sights/Optics: The front sight is a bladed post in an angled slot which is adjustable for windage with two protective wings. The rear sight is a tangent U-notch leaf marked out to 15.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The refinished furniture is two piece wood with a semi-pistol grip, finger grooves, barrel band with bayonet lug, barrel band with sling loop, sling bar, sling well, and a smooth metal buttplate. The buttplate has scuffs and scratches. The furniture shows only old blemishes that have been sanded and refinished. The LOP measures 12.5" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Beneath the buttplate is a tag that reads "Meyer / Jean-Louis / Cp. fus. I/24". There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Very Good Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright and the rifling is sharp. There is light erosion throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 80% of its original metal finish. The finish shows thinning, light scratches, and edge wear. The screw heads show little to no tooling and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Swiss Schmidt Rubin Karabiner Modell K31 was manufactured in 1941 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Waffenfabrik Bern, the K31 is widely regarded as one of the finest military bolt-action rifles ever issued. The K31 utilized a refined straight-pull action with locking lugs positioned directly behind the chamber, resulting in improved strength, accuracy, and smooth operation. Swiss military rifles are renowned for their precision manufacturing and exceptional quality standards.
Chambered in 7.5x55 Swiss with a straight-pull bolt action, the K31 delivers excellent accuracy and ballistic performance. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 8 out of 10, indicating solid internal condition with good rifling. The action functions correctly.
The furniture has been sanded and refinished and currently rates in Very Good Plus condition with an attractive appearance and solid structure. This rifle retains approximately 80% of its original metal finish, showing honest military wear consistent with age and service. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition and stands as a solid example of a 1941 Swiss K31 from the height of Swiss military production.
