Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade integral to a base, screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a fully adjustable rectangular notch sight, pinned to the top strap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece, smooth wood grips, with silver Ruger phoenix medallions inset on both panels. There is little to no handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates at a 9/10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its finish. The balance of the finish is strong. There is light thinning on the leading edges and at the muzzle. There is a light thin turn line on the cylinder. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is minimal side to side play of the cylinders while in lockup. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. Has a transfer bar safety.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with a non-matching Ruger factory box, interchangeable .22 WMR cylinder, and owner's manual.

Our Assessment: Ruger’s Single-Six had already established itself as one of America’s most successful rimfire single-action revolvers when the New Model design arrived in 1973. The redesign retained the familiar Western-style profile and handling of the earlier Single-Six while incorporating Ruger’s transfer-bar safety system and revised lockwork. This 1977 example is the classic convertible configuration, supplied with interchangeable .22 LR and .22 Magnum cylinders, making it equally well suited to inexpensive target shooting, small-game use, and general field carry.

This revolver remains in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 99% of its original blue finish with only light edge wear, and a faint cylinder turn line. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 9/10, the wood grips remain excellent, and the action functions correctly with minimal cylinder play at lockup. It is accompanied by its interchangeable .22 Magnum cylinder, owner's manual, and a non-matching Ruger factory box. A clean, high-condition example of Ruger’s enduring convertible rimfire sixgun, this should make an excellent addition to a Ruger collection or a fine shooter for its next owner.
