Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade with a red insert pinned to a serrated elevated base that is integral to the rib, which is serrated for glare reduction. The rear sight is a square-notched S&W micrometer sight that is adjustable for windage and elevation. The underside of the topstrap is drilled and tapped.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered black rubber Uncle Mikes grips with finger grooves. The grips are mounted on a round butt grip frame. There are a some scattered scuffs and minor marks. There are some scattered light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grips are in Fine condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is a little stubborn copper fouling. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some scattered minor marks and a few scuffs. There is a light turn line on the cylinder. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Fine-plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Model 66 is, essentially, a stainless steel version of the model 19. This example, with its 3″ barrel and adjustable sights, gives the Model 19’s balance precision and power while being carry friendly and also makes it more corrosion resistant and appealing to those who prefer the look of stainless steel. This one has seen light and responsible use, retaining a strong bore and mechanics. It comes fitted with comfortable Uncle Mikes's grips and has nice sights but is also drilled and tapped for an optic. It ought to make for a fine recreational or defensive wheel gun for one lucky winner and is ready for carry. Please see our photos and good luck!
