Choke: The left barrel is Full, the right Modified, both fixed.
Sights / Optics: There is a silver-colored bead at the muzzle. The top of the rib is milled in a wave-like pattern for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered select walnut set with splinter forend, straight english grip, straight comb and checkered bare butt. The stocks have a few light nicks and scratches. There is one more notable vertical scratch on the left of the stock toward the rear of the checkering and a small bruise on the right at the rear edge. There is a tiny crack at the rear of the top tang. The checkering is well defined. The drop at comb is approximately 1 3/8", drop at heel 2 3/8". The LOP measures 14 3/8" and 13 1/2" from the fronts of the triggers to the back of the butt. The has minor wear, mostly around the edges and at the heel. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate 10/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The most notable marks are minor scuffs and scratches on the bottom and side of the left barrel around the front of the forend. Otherwise there are only light handling marks and minor operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a trunk case with Webley and Scott label, snap caps, oiler, cleaning rods, brushes, and a leather handguard.
Our Assessment: Webley and Scott is one of the oldest British gunmakers, tracing their origins back to 1790. They are also one of the most prolific makers, best known today for their production of civilian and military handguns in the late 19th and 20th centuries. They also have produced, and still do make some fine shotguns. This example is somewhat scarce, one of their Model 720 shotguns produced for Harrington & Richardson in the 1970s, this specific one made in 1971. It appears to be an early pre-production gun, number 70 in the 720 serial range, and produced the year before H&R actually started advertising the guns.
It is quite trim at just under five pounds, with splinter forend, slim English-style stock, and 26" barrels. The gun is in Fine condition, appearing to have seen little use and likely spending more time in the included case than out. This is a beautiful gun that would catch some eyes at the skeet range and would make a great gun for doves, quail, grouse, even pheasant. Light, fast handling and a beauty to behold, this shotgun would make a fine addition to any collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
