Sights/Optics: The front sight is a black serrated ramped blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a black square-notch in a base pinned to the top strap and is adjustable for elevation and windage.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece smooth wood panels with Ruger medallions inset into either side. The only notable mark is a small pressure ding on the right panel. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in about Fine Plus to Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with stubborn fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The finish shows a defined turn line, light edge wear, and some light surface scratches. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Ruger New Model Blackhawk was manufactured in 1981 and is chambered in .45 Colt.
