Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Patridge blade integral to a base, screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a fully adjustable notch sight, pinned to a channel cut in the top strap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece smooth walnut with Ruger logo medallions. There are a few minor handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the grips are in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Blued, Anodized Aluminum

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 97% of its finish. The balance of the finish is strong. There is thinning on the leading edges, particularly on the sides of the muzzle. There is minor intermittent oxidation. The screw heads are sharp, and the pins are mostly sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. There is no transfer bar safety.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with its factory box, original receipt dated 1969, interchangeable .22 Magnum fluted cylinder, and owner's manual.

Our Assessment: Ruger introduced the Super Single-Six in the mid-1960s as the adjustable-sight counterpart to the standard Single-Six, giving shooters a more refined version of the company’s popular rimfire single-action revolver. Early examples such as this 1969 revolver retain the desirable three-screw Old Model action, produced before Ruger adopted the transfer-bar system in 1973. Chambered for .22 LR and supplied with an interchangeable .22 Magnum cylinder, the Super Single-Six offered excellent versatility while retaining the traditional handling and appearance that made Ruger’s early single actions so successful.

This revolver remains in Excellent condition with approximately 97% of its original finish, an excellent set of walnut grips, and a bright 9/10 bore. More importantly for the collector, it remains in its original configuration and is accompanied by its factory box, interchangeable .22 Magnum cylinder, owner's manual, and original 1969 purchase receipt. Complete Old Model Rugers with their original accessories and period documentation are increasingly difficult to find, making this a particularly attractive example for the serious Ruger collector.
