Sights/Optics: The front sight is a metal bead atop the ventilated rib. The rib and receiver are serrated to reduce glare.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece wood furniture consists of a straight comb, checkered semi pistol grip, checkered forend, and serrated synthetic Remington buttplate. The buttplate has light handling wear. The wood shows some scattered pressure dings and drag lines. The LOP measures 14" from the face of the trigger to the rear of the butt. There is a crack running from the left side of the receiver. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with light streaking. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 92% of its current finish. The finish shows operational wear from the forend rubbing, a few very faint scratches, and some old pitting on the rib that has been finished over. The receiver pins are unmarred and fully functional. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm rates in Very Good Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Remington Model 870 Wingmaster was manufactured in 1969 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic firearm. Introduced in 1950 by Remington Arms, the Model 870 quickly became one of the most successful pump-action shotguns ever produced. The Wingmaster grade represents the premium version of the model, featuring polished blued steel, quality walnut furniture, and exceptionally smooth operation. Chambered in the relatively scarce 28 Gauge, these Wingmasters are especially desirable among upland hunters and collectors due to their light weight, excellent handling characteristics, and limited production compared to their 12 and 20 gauge counterparts.
