Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a v-notch dovetailed into the barrel. There is a folding aperture screwed into the upper tang.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, straight-wrist grip, smooth forend, and a smooth metal Remington buttplate. The buttplate has edge wear and surface oxidation. The furniture shows pressure dings, scuffs, and scratches. The LOP measures 12.75" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There is a crack running from the upper and lower tang. The furniture rates in Good condition.

Type of Finish: Blued, case colored

Finish Originality: Nonoriginal, there are spots of cold blue

Bore Condition: The bore is grey and the rifling is worn. There is heavy pitting scattered throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 3/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 30% of its metal finish. The finish shows patina, oxidation, scratches, and spots of cold blue. The screw heads show light tooling and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Fair condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Remington Model 6 was manufactured between 1911 and 1921 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Remington, the Model 6 was the successor to the Remington Rolling Block No. 4 and featured a compact falling block action intended for economical sporting and training use. These rifles became popular among young shooters and small game hunters during the early 20th century due to their simplicity and durability.

Chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle with a 20 inch barrel, this single shot rifle reflects the versatile rimfire configuration common to the period. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 3 out of 10, showing significant wear consistent with age and long-term use. The action functions correctly.

The furniture rates in Good condition with visible handling wear but solid overall structure. This rifle retains approximately 30% of its metal finish. The remaining finish shows areas of patina, oxidation, scratches, and spots of cold blue touch-up.
