Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation v-notch screwed into a dovetailed base.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, straight-wrist grip, smooth forend, and a smooth metal Remington buttplate. The buttplate has light handling wear. The furniture shows light pressure dings, scuffs, and scratches. The LOP measures 12.5" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are two cracks running from the upper tang. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is grey and the rifling is lightly worn. There is light pitting scattered throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its original metal finish. The finish shows light thinning of the case color and bluing, faint freckling, and a few minor surface scratches. The screw heads show light tooling and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Good to Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Remington Model 6 was manufactured between 1911 and 1921 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Remington, the Model 6 was the successor to the Remington Rolling Block No. 4 and utilized a compact falling block action designed for economical sporting and training use. These rifles became popular as youth and small game rifles during the early 20th century.

Chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle with a 20 inch barrel, this single shot rifle reflects the practical and versatile rimfire configuration that made the Model 6 so successful. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 5 out of 10, showing moderate wear consistent with age and use. The action functions correctly.

The furniture rates in Very Good condition with typical handling marks and solid structure.
